Well, life has hit me pretty hard. I graduated from college, had a job for the summer and then came home.
I graduated in May of last year from Bob Jones University. I spent all four years there. Some good friends, good memories, and received an amazing education. Wouldn't have it any other way.
After college I worked at a camp. Let me tell you, one of the most life changing experiences I've ever had. I absolutely love camp and I think that everyone should work at a camp at some point in their life. It's so cool to see God at work in young people!
After camp I came home. I sent out resume after resume... cover letter after cover letter. Finally, I heard from a government contracting company in N. Va. I did the interview and basically I have the job. I'm just waiting on one of those 'grown up' job related things. It's been almost 6 months. Knowing that you have a job but can't work until certain things happen really stinks.
But God is still good. He gave me a very low paying part-time job, but what an opportunity! I have the opportunity to be one of the few Christians in a very secular environment. I love that. God definitely knows where we need to be before we do, that is for sure!
The Lord has also given the opportunity to use my photo skill to earn a little extra money. I love it!
Transitioning from being called an adult because of age to actually being an adult and making decisions for yourself has been one of the weirdest things for me. Because of my low-paying job my parents have been gracious enough to let me live with them for free. I cook, clean and do whatever they ask me to in return :) I've started paying for all the maintenance on my car. Weird, but true. I'm paying for my own cell phone bill now. These are two things that are very foreign to me, but I feel responsible. Like I've really reached adulthood.
Once I start making some real money though... that's when it will hit me. I mean that I'm no longer a kid anymore. I can't ask my parents for things the way I used to. You know, before I was a college graduate.
